Summary Essay 2

I realize now that I did write "draft" on the previous assignment description.  We will do a 2nd article summary in addition to the practise summary of the article on homework which we are working on right now.  The 2nd Individual Summary essay grade will replace the grade for the one you did on your last articles.

The summary of "Homework" is a regular assignment grade.

Here are some resources to help you learn how to summarize an article:

Drew On-line Resources for Writers: "Summary Writing"  This is the website for the information we had on the board.  Click on the contents link called "Writing the Summary Essay" (or scroll down)  to see the outline of what goes in each paragraph of the essay.

Sample Summary Essay- The Gaulladet University website has a sample of a 3-paragraph summary of a news article.  The article is fairly short and should be easily and quickly understood.

Writing @CSU has a sample article summary (but the original article is not given).  On the right side of the page are links to a wealth of information and step-by-step guides to summarizing and paraphrasing.
